This page demonstrates some potential uses of metadata entry forms for deformation experiments. Forms are used to create standardized output that then can be further processed and stored in digital data systems or local data archives.
For this example we use JSON-Editor to create form templates from JSON Schemata.

The entry fields represent suggestions that have been circulated amongst the rock deformation community for some time. They are grouped into the following Sections: System (Apparatus), Sample, Experiment and Data.

The Form structure is highly adaptable and defined by a JSON schema.
Please note that the current demo includes ALL fields and a wide range of equipment and experimental scenarios. In a real - live scenario, the schema (form) may be simplified to show only necessary information. In most sections, the form is collapsed for better readability. Entries can be saved as JSON and loaded as template if needed. Example:
